Well…3 days later, and Glen and I are still scared from the Walmart experience…lol We are both unable to eat a meal now without thinking of chicken feet, and all the other ‘goodies’ we saw there. Kelly & Leslie…we are seriously considering going vegetarian …might need some tips and recipes from you. lol Not sure we could give up a good steak back home, but eating chicken will never be the same.J From our hotel room we can even see chickens running around on the roof of a building across the street from us!!!...they are everywhere..haha!
We received Thea’s Chinese passport today…so we are now able to start the process of getting a Canadian visa for her to come home with us.
Have I mentioned how awesome it is to have my mommy along on this adventure with us? I’m so glad she has been here to be a part of this amazing experience…and she has been SO helpful along the way…that one set of extra hands really helps. Not to mention that it is my mom’s laptop that we have been emailing on…so glad she brought it and doesn’t mind us using it! J
We arrived in Beijing late tonight…the airlines lost one of our pieces of luggage, so it took a long time at the airport to figure that all out. They finally found it, still in Nanchang, and said they would fly it here and deliver it tomorrow…we felt so bad to hold the entire group up at the airport as everyone was tired and the babies were all so tired after the journey. Just got the kiddies to bed and we are following…it’s 12 midnight and we are exhausted.

Beijing is so different…many more Caucasians and english speaking people. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast this morning at the hotel buffet…finally I understand what our friends told us about the yummy breakfasts!! We ate tons…and even ‘borrowed’ some bananas and congee for Thea for later in the day. J
Thea did not sleep very well last night…she has gotten the cold from mom and I, and was up coughing and very wheezy all night. She cried a few times, but was easily comforted by me picking her up and cuddling for a few minutes. Needless to say, I didn’t get much rest either as I am such a light sleeper and was worried about her all night. Praying she will feel better soon…she is a bit cranky today, I’m assuming due to lack of sleep and not feeling well. I am feeling much better now, but my mom is still recovering from her cold.
We are off now to do some grocery shopping and some exploring nearby. Mataeus is excited as we were told there is a place to get Haugen Daaz ice cream close by…and I’m excited as apparently there is a Starbucks too…whoohoo! J
Off we go…
